Neighborhood Overview
There are wonderful restaurants nearby, including the well-known Cheesecake Factory; Hy's Steak House for a very special dinner; Tiki's Grill & Bar for great food, inexpensive drinks and Duke's Canoe House, oceanfront, food, drinks, with both places great spots for sunsets, people watching and nightly entertainment; and Cheeseburger in Paradise, always crowded, located at each end of Waikiki.
Notes
Often referred to as an Oasis in the Heart of Waikiki, the Aqua Bamboo & Spa is a lovely property that even includes its own Spa with a beautiful swimming pool and large sun deck in a garden setting called The Outer Sanctuary. There is a pavilion and even a barbecue grill--it's a wonderful spot to take a swim, or just simply relax after a day of activity. Jun 27, 2019Great location - close to everything in Waikiki. Beach, hotels and ABC stores right around the corner. It is really nice to be welcomed personally by Rob - he shows you everything and you can contact him if you need anything. The condo is in a hotel which is great, because they have a 24h reception. I would definitely recommend this condo!
Jun 27, 2019My family and I enjoyed the stay in WAikiki SO much! Everything was clean, there was fresh fruit waiting for us, beach towels, the apartment was in the very heart of Waikiki and the host was the best - he was so smiling, helpfull and kind! I wish to come back! :-)

Jun 27, 2019Our flight got in very late and Rob (in lieu of Mark) was a totally star meeting us, exactly as he said he would, at the appt. The location is totally superb and couldn't be better. We had no idea what a good place to stay would be in Honolulu but trust me this is it! The appt was great, perfect for our needs and generally in good shape, however, the bath/shower could do with a little work. The pool is just as fabulous as the picture shows and the little hot tub is brilliant. I would highly recommend staying here :)

Jun 27, 2019Mark was very personable. Met us downstairs in the lobby and walked us upstairs. The room was very nice. I loved the pool area, very relaxing. There's also a pizza place downstairs:) There's no view from the room but having a kitchenette was a better priority for me.
Jun 27, 2019I had booked this accommodation for my husbands trip to Hawaii for a conference. Communication was very easy with Mark and the check-in process went well. This is the Review that my Husband gave for the place - "Basic room with small kitchen. Clean. Beds are nice. Great Location. Can't beat it for the price". So I would say it was a great success.
Jun 27, 2019This was THE best place for me to stay. Super clean and the front desk people were so friendly. I had a lovely pineapple and box of chocolates waiting for me. Jun 27, 2019This is a fantastic property, i was met by Rob as arranged by Mark when i arrived at the property. Its exactly as described in the pictures, two large comfortable double beds and a small kitchen that was perfect for a week long stay. I found the property quiet and very close to all amenities, it is less that a 5minute walk to the beach, but the pool area downstairs is also very nice. Overall the room is excellent value for Waikiki and i would definitely stay here again.

Jun 27, 2019Rob who met us at the hotel was welcoming and helpful. The room is small but quite adequate and comfortable. It is in the center of Waikiki and a few blocks from the beach We loved the pool and hot tub and would stay here again just for that. The on site cafe is really just an evening pizza parlor but we were glad it was there. Parking is a problem though --there is none---unless you are willing to pay $25/day or risk a ticket on the street if you can even find a space. This is the perfect place if you dont want to have a car
Jun 27, 2019Our stay was very enjoyable. It was close to the beach and many other services. The pool in the building was ideally located and offered both sun and shade. The room itself was large and well equipped kitchen supplies and even some water toys.
Jun 27, 2019It was a good place to "not be there" we barely spent time in the room because there wasn't much space. We barely used the space to cook because there wasn't enough room. The balcony was great even with a view into the adjacent building/rooms. We enjoyed the poolside gathering on Thursday and the staff were very friendly and helpful. The bath tube is old and rusting and we needed more towels. The first set of towels we were given had a weird, damp smell, we had to wash them. Also the sponge was used and I have no idea how long ago. Other than that cheap, central place for sleep.
Jun 27, 2019The host & his representative were pleasant to deal with & very helpful - everything went smoothly. This listing was exactly what I wanted - an amazing location at a fantastic price! 5mins walk to the beach at The Duke monument, which is right next to where the free hula show is every Tues, Thurs & Sat around sunset (check seasonal times online). Convenience store & all sorts of restaurants really close plus the on-site pizza cafe makes delicious (large!) pizzas. At this price, I could afford to pay for parking at the hotel next door every night (up to $25 for 24hrs as of July 2016) - note that you can't use that hotel's elevator & may need to walk up 4 levels of the car park driveways. The suite was 'cozy' for our adult family sharing 2 beds - 21yo twins in one bed and Mum & 19yo daughter in the other, but we were only there to sleep anyway (plus the price was too good to ignore). Nice TV & cable and aircon unit worked well. I used the microwave but not the stove-top, although I'm sure that would be used by other family mixes. Good strength free Wi-Fi in-room. Ice machine down by the nice pool. The hotel is older, but I loved the 'old-school Hawaii' lobby. The suite's balcony looks onto neighboring apartments' balconies, but you just close the sheer curtain during the day plus the backing curtain at night when you have your room lights on. I would definitely recommend this for travelers who prefer to spend their money on activities, rather than their accommodation.
Jun 27, 2019We were welcomed, shown to our room and everything was fine. It is in a great location, right in the middle of Waikiki and most of all it is clean. The kids enjoyed the pool after swimming at the beach and we enjoyed watching them with a glass of wine from the shop a few doors down.
Jun 27, 2019It was our first experience using AirBnB so we were a bit nervous as to how it would unfold. Mark gave simple and prompt answers which assisted and we met Rob at the motel with no problem. The room was exactly as advertised and is in one of the most perfect spots to walk everywhere within a matter of minutes. The room is exactly what you pay for and exactly what it looks like. You are not paying for a view you get a comfy bed, an air conditioner and a convenient location. All in all very thankful our first experience was pleasant and hassle free. Thank you Mark and Rob.

Jun 27, 2019Excellent location. 3 min walk to the middle of Waikiki beach, nice pool onsite. That's the gold. On the downside, this listing is for a small hotel room crammed with 2 double beds. It's within the hotel but privately owned so you don't really have access to the hotel reception staff etc, your accommodation manager/contact is offsite. Check-in process is a little clumsy, you phone when you arrive and someone turns up and shows you around, provides access cards etc. On balance, was reasonable value, but not much space or comfort. Clean, well located, ideal if you are out all day like we were.
Jun 27, 2019Bamboo suite 308 was our third stay with air bnb in Hawaii. It's situated in the Aqua Bamboo hotel which is a great location in Waikiki. Close to everything. The lobby area, and pool is fantastic. So is the pizza place. Desk staff are super helpful. Suite is better suited to single people or couples/two single friends only using it for a couple of nights. There were some issues. Owner did not reply to any correspondence at all, including information requested for check in procedure. Apartment not well stocked and some minor things are not as advertised. Bathroom is outdated and needs maintenance.

Jun 27, 2019Overall it was great. Small room but worth it as it's very close to everything (walking distance). Rob arrived as soon as he could after I'd called and was very friendly and explained a few things about the place. I would've preferred to have more toilet paper in the bathroom. If possible more towels and bed linen would've been great and a vacuum cleaner would've been a bonus. Overall a great stay! People at the front desk were very friendly and informative and we had a great time. Thank you Mark and Rob.

Jun 27, 2019Perfect location &great value for money. The Bamboo hotel has great friendly staff and an ok pool. The apartment was very nice and had everything we could wish for including beach towels. The balcony is not very pleasant since it is really close to another building, and there is quite a lot of noise from Kuhio ave. Overall a great stay, Mark and his colleagues made it super-easy for us to check in and out during late and early hours. We would stay here again.
Jun 27, 2019A great room, right in the centre of Waikiki and easy walking distance to shops, restaurants, main streets and the beach. It is a smaller room, and we found that it was the perfect size for three. The bathroom doesn't have great ventilation, so can become a bit of a sauna; the balcony faces another building but opening the door lets in a lovely breeze. Highly recommended!
Jun 27, 2019Mark was an attentive and polite host, and responded to any calls or texts regarding check in/out and a minor issue we had with the air conditioner immediately. Room was clean and well fitted out with everything we needed and the location was right in the heart of Waikiki. Would definately return again and recommend to others looking for no fuss accomodation in a great location

Jun 27, 2019Good location, nice pool area and the pizza place is a little expensive but delicious! Free tea/coffee and water in the lobby all day is excellent. The shower was blocked however we managed to fix this with the plunger supplied and Mark was quick to offer assistance.

Jun 27, 2019The Bamboo Suites are amazing. Cute room in a great location! The beach was about two blocks away, a very quick walk from the room! There are a ton of great restaurants near by as well. I definitely would book another stay!
Jun 27, 2019I had accidentally booked a reservation. As soon as I noticed, I had sent a message to Mark explaining that I had mistakenly made a request (seconds later). He didn't hesitate to approve my reservation. HOWEVER he did ignore my message towards my explanation in canceling. I had to call airbnb to get a response. He gave me the minimum refund. HORRIBLE host. STOLE my money and took advantage.
Jun 27, 2019Great place, 2 blocks from the beach. Exactly as described; third floor apartment with 2 queen beds with kitchenette and balcony (without a view). Mark was there to receive us as when we arrived and answered all the questions we had. The next morning it turned out that the shower water was not draining properly. A quick call and a couple hours later it got fixed! Perfect! Only negative thing I can say is regarding the hotel itself. We asked whether we could store our luggage for a couple hours before heading to the airport and they said no because we were not registered guests. Same thing with borrowing a broom, beach chairs or making use of the free shuttle to Ala Moana. A little bit frustrating, but nothing the host can do about this, I guess. When I contacted Mark about the beach chairs and the broom, he was happy to bring them over the next day. Very responsive host.

Jun 27, 2019Great location close to the beach and restaurants. Being able to use hotel amenities is a plus. Kitchette is a bonus. If you have a rental and are looking for parking there is a public garage next door, however pricey at $30 a day. Down the street at Waikiki Banyan there is public parking at $20 a day and they offer a weekly rate of $80, only a 10 minute walk. Had a problem with tv and guest host replied promptly when contacted and quickly resolved the problem. Rental was well stocked with dishes, cutlery, towels etc and a bonus it even had chairs for the beach. Would recommend this place and would stay there again.

Jun 27, 2019There were 3 of us in the room for 9 nights on our first trip to Hawaii. The location was excellent - a short walk to the 'main' beach and close to a grocery store, car rental and both public and tour bus stops. We made use of the beach chairs and towels provided and having a small kitchenette was handy. It does need to be made clear that this is a private suite in a hotel building, and the hotel staff won't do much for you. We had an issue with our in room safe where is stopped responding to our code and despite admitting they had an override device, it took 4 days and many texts, conversations and visits with Mark to convince them to come in and help...and they charged us $50 to do it! The only other issue we had was some noisy neighbors who seemed to enjoy smoking weed at all hours of the day and night. Overall a nice room in a convenient location.

Jun 27, 2019Great location, great value for money! We enjoyed our stay at Aqua Bamboo it was perfect base for us exploring Oahu. The kitchenette was perfect for us to prepare breakfast & lunch for our days journey & the lovely outdoor pool area was a great space for us to return & relax in after a busy day before a quick and easy walk to Dukes, The Royal Hawaiian, Cheese Cake Factory and many other great restaurants for dinner. Staff at front desk very welcoming and helpful, little road noise from outside but thats busy Waikiki for you, hard to escape it. Thanks Mark we enjoyed our time at your apartment. We will return.
Jun 27, 2019Location is great and the pool and hot tub is very nice (although we didn’t use it). Everything you need available is within walking distance. Need a quick bite? There’s a Mexican restaurant, good taco spot, cheap (and long but worth it) Japanese udon spot), poke spot, and plenty of ABC stores within a short walk. Two blocks from Waikiki Beach. If you are a light sleeper, then you may be bothered bu the street traffic on Kūhiō, but if a normal sleeper no problem. Comfy A/C and easy check-in.

Jun 27, 2019Perfect for couples, maybe less with young child, the location is perfect, 2-3 minutes from the beach, 2-3 minutes from all the restaurants, store and buses. The AC was quite noisy but appart this it's perfect if you want to enjoy Waikiki. We enjoyed our stay. Mahalo
Jun 27, 2019Apartment is in a great location, super close walk to everything. Access to pool and spa included is a bonus. Check in process was smooth with host meeting us in hotel lobby then showing us through apartment. There are two beds however both are quite small if wanting to sleep with partner, and we aren’t big humans. Air con was noisy buzzing when being used. Lots of towels to access both beach and shower! Boogie boards and beach chairs available for use also. Great little kitchen that we didn’t make use of due to being so close to so many restaurants. We had trouble with the toilet on the first night/day but was fixed by later that afternoon. WiFi is super reliable and fast. Great stay.

Jun 27, 2019다른 숙소에 비해 저렴한 만큼 딱 그 정도의 환경과 서비스. 청소까지는 아니더라도 수건 등은 숙박 일수 만큼 제공되면 좋을텐데 잘 안됨. 로밍을 하지 않아 통화가 어려우면 의사소통도 쉽지 않음. 다만 이른 체크인에 별도의 요금을 요구하지 않고 안내도 친절한 편이었음.
