Walking distance to everything! Away from the craziness of Waikiki/Honolulu and nestled in the heart of the cutest beach town in the world!!!! Our neighborhood is filled with amazing beach bungalows like ours! Neighbors are super friendly and most have been here for MANY years. We kindly ask if you are lost upon arriving to our home to not knock on the neighbors doors and to just give us a call instead to come outside or assist you over the phone. Notes
We do have a friendly dog named Bindi. She loves all people and (most) other dogs. If you have an allergy or just don't want her around all the time, please let us know ahead of time.
Transit
Right up the corner is the bus to all over the island! 57A takes you right into downtown Honolulu with connections to anywhere on the island. Uber and Lyft available. Bike cruisers always a good way to get around. If you do use the bikes, please lock them up to ensure they do not get stolen.

Jun 27, 2019Jim and Tina's place was a great fit for us in Hawaii. They were very welcoming and really made sure we were comfortable during out entire stay. They treated us like their long time friends and peers. Their house was very close to the beach and downtown. They let us use their bikes which was a big plus. They had great recommendations for the area which kept us busy the whole time. Their dog's were very chill. Great place for any traveller. I would recommend this place to other travellers; just make note if you require an early checkin time, to contact them early, as they both might be working late.
Jun 27, 2019The hosts were amazing! We felt extremely welcome into their home. The neighborhood was exactly what we were looking for. The beach was perfect for swimming and we found fun stuff to do around town at night. They also recommended us great hikes and places to eat.
Jun 27, 2019Tina and Jim were amazing hosts - they are new Hawaiian residents but they already know a lot about Hawaii and their enthusiasm for Hawaii made us excited to be there ! They made us feel at home right away and are very easy to get along with. They are very friendly and have a chill atmosphere at their lovely beach cottage. We enjoyed getting to know them and they respected our space and quiet time when we needed it. They've done an awesome job renovating their place into a comfortable and clean home. Their dogs are sweethearts - Tina and Jim are excellent dog owners. During our 5-day stay, we did a lot of beaching, eating out at the delicious places in town, read or watched TV, and slept a lot. It was very relaxing. If you want a place where you're away from Honolulu but still have access to it easily, this is the place for you!
Jun 27, 2019Tina and Jimmy's place was in a great location to kick back at the beach and explore the island from. Tina and Jimmy were happy to let us laze around watching TV. They have made a big effort to make their place comfortable for guests. The bikes are an excellent way of getting around Kailua, either into town to get supplies or when heading to the beach.
Jun 27, 2019After a mix up on our arrival Tina came home and let us in . That are a young couple who were very generous in sharing their kitchen, coffee, etc. and since they she and husband Jim are busy working they left us to enjoy their newly remodeled home along with two dogs. The house is about a mile from town, two miles from beach, and bikes are available. Traffic in Kailua is gnarly, so bikes are best. The bedroom is tiny, the bed is a comfortable double bed, and it gets hot in afternoon. Thanks for your hospitality Tina and Jim!

Jun 27, 2019I had a great stay at Jim and Tina's. They were extremely friendly and accommodating. The room was nice, and I even had the entire place to myself for a few days since Jim and Tina were gone on a hiking trip. The location was excellent. 10 minute walk from the beach and downtown Kailua. The only negative was that my bed wasn't ready when I got there around midnight my first night. No big deal. They apologized profusely and I could tell that it was an honest mistake.
Jun 27, 2019Tina and Jim were wonderful and so accommodating. Their home was adorable inside and out. We were able to use their bikes and the beach was only a short walk away. Kailua was a very cute town and the home was walking distance from shops, restaurants, etc. Thank you for everything!
Jun 27, 2019Kailua is a beautiful town, and Tina and Jimmy's house is just as beautiful! Great decor and friendly dogs, and a short walk to the beach and shops. They went the extra mile for me too by picking me up from the bus stop and even giving me a lift to the airport! Thanks so much guys, it was brief but wonderful.
Jun 27, 2019Tina and Jim made us feel right at home! Their cottage is so cute and clean. Incredibly comfortable and just as pleasant as in the pictures. When home, Tina and Jim were wonderful to chat with. They both work, so it seemed like we had the house all to ourselves, which was also nice :), especially with two loud energetic young kids! They have a yard, which was great to play in and nice neighbors too! They are also centrally located to restaurants and the beach. I'd definitely stay with them again!
Jun 27, 2019Tina and Jimmy were lovely hosts. They made us feel very welcome. We were a bit lax in our arrival communication because it was our last night in Hawaii, so we were out making the most of it and didn't see their messages until later in the afternoon, but they went out of their way to make sure we could get in the house and to make sure we felt at home and comfortable. We were able to visit with them a bit later in the evening, and they were super friendly and fun. We only wish we could have stayed longer! Kailua is beautiful, and Tina and Jimmy's home is very nicely located in town. They left all sorts of great recommendations for visitors, and made us feel very at home. We would absolutely come back to stay with them again the next time we return to Oahu.

Jun 27, 2019Tina and Jim have a lovely, light filled beach style house in a quiet neighbourhood close to the beach and a short drive from town. They are a friendly couple (with two cute dogs) who were there to answer any questions - as well as give us some great restaurant recommendations - whilst allowing us space as well. Would definitely recommend for a stay in Kailua.
Jun 27, 2019We really enjoyed staying at Tina and Jim's place. They were very welcoming, it was very comfortable, and it's in a great location. Having access to a couple of bikes really helped, but everything we needed was withing walking distance anyway. Both Tina and Jim were happy to give advice on where to eat and drink. We really enjoyed our time in Kailua, thanks in large part to such great hosts.
Jun 27, 2019Tina & Jim's cottage is immaculately clean, airy and perfectly situated in Kailua. It's just a short walk to beautiful Kamala Bay beach and an easy walk to town center (and they have bikes available if you prefer). I highly recommend the Sunday morning Farmers' Market, if you are in town. Parking was easily available at their home. It's a quiet neighborhood - I slept well. They provide beach chairs, beach towels, plenty of room in the fridge for your food/beverages, and a sweet dog, Bindi, to keep you company if you wish. They're kind, thoughtful hosts, and yet allow you your privacy. They've made great updates to their home - the outdoor shower is wonderful, their yard is lovely and they're working on staining/finishing off a nice deck area as well. The room is perfect for a single traveler like myself. There was a basket filled with information on Kailua and surrounding areas, as well as amenities (toothpaste, shower gel, shampoo, etc.) I didn't do any cooking (my choice), but they have a nicely furnished kitchen. I appreciated the "green" choice of coffee pods for their Keurig! I loved having breakfast on their cozy, shady porch looking out over their yard edged with flowers. Directions to their place were excellent. All in all, I would go back in a heartbeat. Thank you, Tina & Jim - you made my return to Hawaii quite wonderful!

Jun 27, 2019We had a wonderful time at Tina's and Jim's place. They gave us plenty of advice and recommendations on what to do around Kailua, provided us with all we needed to enjoy our stay. The bikes, washer/dryer were really useful, and the house is really nice (table outside is perfect for dinner!). It is perfectly convenient for travelers. We can only recommend it to future guests: great hosts, great house (and friendly dog). We wish we'd spent more time there!
Jun 27, 2019Great location! You can walk to the beautiful beaches and to the town. If you are coming to Oahu you really should come to Kalua and this is a great place to stay. Friendly hosts, great location, lovely beach cottage.

Jun 27, 2019Tina and her husband were welcoming and friendly. The house and room were clean and very well decorated. The location wasn't too far from the restaurants and shops. We were able to walk everywhere no problem, but some may choose to drive, especially if you're going to the beach. It was a quick trip, but Tina was very helpful with any questions we had, and gave great recommendations for hikes and places to eat. Great spot!
Jun 27, 2019Tina and Jim are both very kind and capable of giving you privacy as well as answering any questions you may have. They are very open with their home which makes you feel very comfortable and like you are home away from home. The beach is in walking distance and was the best beach we saw while in Hawaii. Tina and Jim are very open with their supplies such as bikes, and gear. Their openness invites you to be comfortable and we were very thankful for it. Would definitely stay at their home again. Kailua can not be beat.

Jun 27, 2019Great location. About 20 minute walk to the beach and on a dead end street. Nice and quiet. The room has a window air conditioner which was great. The bed is an airbed and a bit short, but very comfy.

Jun 27, 2019Incredibly well-kept room in a gorgeous home in walking distance of downtown Kailua. Their dog, Bindi, is a real sweetheart (once bribed with a few treats). Jim was very helpful on my arrival and provided full run of his home. If you’re looking for a comfy place convenient to Kailua and Kaneohe, you won’t find a much better deal than Tina and Jim’s home.

Jun 27, 2019We had a great stay at Tina's place with sweet Bindi. The home is really comfortable and welcoming. It's a very residential neighborhood with easy access to pretty much anything you would need during your stay, beautiful beaches & hikes. Would definitely recommend.

The house is stylish and there was lots of beach gear available for our use. Big bonus: Bindi is the sweetest little pup. Would definitely recommend

Tina and Jim were helpful with suggestions and our questions as needed but also gave us lots of space and privacy. We were made to feel very comfortable using the kitchen, bikes, couches etc. Bhindi, the dog is so freaking cute and friendly! Great stay!

Jun 27, 2019Beautiful home - like something out of a West Elm catalog or Instagram #thebeachlife! Pictures don't do it justice. Everything was super clean plus a wooden outdoor shower. Great to use their bike to head to the beach and not have to worry about parking and keys. Highly recommend the beaches and town of Kailua - it's a gem!
