Kailua is a great community that has world famous beaches, a healthy lifestyle, and great restaurants. The beach and Kailua town, where there is everything you'll need, is a 5-10 minute walk away.
Notes
One of the nicest beaches on Oahu is a 5-10 minute walk away, as well as the whole town of Kailua; with Whole Foods, farmerʻs markets, multiple restaurants, grocery stores, retail boutiques, and local surf shops. Please let me know if thereʻs anything we can do to make your stay memorable!
Transit
Hawaii has one of the best bus systems, but we recommend renting a car for the most convenience. Kailua is a biking community and you can bike almost anywhere in Kailua in 10 minutes. This is a great option if you want to "get away from it all" and check out the local scene. If you'd like to explore the island and see different attractions though, we highly recommend a car. The airport and world famous shopping at Ala Moana shopping center is 30 minutes away. Honolulu is 20 minutes away, and the North Shore is 45 minutes away.
Access
There is a backyard that is shared with another family and a small table/chair set on the side of the house with a bbq grill for outdoor eating. This house is completely separate and does not share anything beside the backyard. There is a private washer/dryer at the back of the house, and a dishwasher as well. There is cable tv and secure wifi internet available to all guests. We have beach mats, cooler bags, snorkel sets, and boogie boards for our guests to enjoy as well!

Rules
We want everyone's stay to be as enjoyable as possible. Please respect these rules. 1. We respect our neighbors so keep quiet hours between 10 pm- 8 am. 2. There is no smoking on premise. 3. There is a no pet policy. 4. There is a no party policy. 5. It is customary in Hawaii to walk bare foot indoors, so please take off your shoes/slippers (flip flops), and leave it on the bottom two shelves to the left of the door. If your feet are sandy/dirty, please use the hose outside to wash off. 6. We live in the tropics and have bugs. Please help us by throwing away your trash in the grey bin (regular trash), and if you are staying at the cottage on a Friday night, take the grey trash bin out to the curb for trash pick up on Saturday morning. There are trash bags for your convenience. 7. Please do not use our towels for cleaning. If you need to clean something, there are rags on the bottom shelf of the kitchen pantry. 8. We stayed here for 5 nights in October. The house is very newly renovated. We had plenty of space for 2 couples and 2 kids (6). The couch is a pull out and there are 2 queen beds. Tiffany was very quick in responding to our needs and questions. Everything was new and clean. We were provided with everything we needed. The house is not air conditioned, which is fine most of the year but it happened to be very hot the week we stayed due to a tropical storm. We were unable to use the oven as it would heat up the whole house very quickly. The neighbors that share the backyard were very nice. So were all the other neighbors we encountered on our walks to the beach and town. We loved Kailua and recommend this town to everyone.

Jun 27, 2019Tiffany did a fabulous job with Hale Kailua. We are 2 kitesurfing ladies, who had a full day on the water before arriving at Hale Kailua. So, it was really appreciated to find the pre-packed insulated lunch bag, cold water and treats. It was just great to be able to pull into the car-port for easy unloading. Tiffany, made it easy for us to use the hose to wash our gear too. The location is on a quiet street and we were just minutes from the kiting area.
Jun 27, 2019The neighbors were very friendly. Clean area and very close to beach. Had everything we needed except bottle opener so purchased one to leave at house also didn't have a can opener but we improvised.
Jun 27, 2019Pro's: Very clean and beach cozy! Everything you might need is all available in the house. (Washer & Dryer outside) The shower is amazing! Absolutely loved it! Loved that there is tons of towels! Its walking distance to the beach. Tiffany was fast in answering any of our questions. I would really recommend this house, specially if your trying to stay away from the hustle and bustle of Waikiki. Kailua has amazing beaches! Cons: I understand its a cultural and respectful thing to remove your shoes before entering the house, but our only hiking shoes got stolen. I would suggest to remove them outside and place them inside next to the door. There is a broom available in the house to sweep when needed. The only mirror in the house is a small one in the one bathroom in the house. I traveled with my two sisters. One mirror with 3 girls was a little difficult. Other than that, its a great place to stay!! Thank you Tiffany! We loved our stay!
Jun 27, 2019The unit was pretty much as advertised. It was well equipped, and had lots of towels. The washer/dryer worked well and were easy to access. The beds were quite comfortable While it is a two block walk to the beach road, it is 4-5 blocks to actual beach access. The beach itself is lovely. It is an easy 15 minute walk to town. The unit got fairly warm, especially late in the afternoon. One of the two bedrooms was often quite warm. The yard space would be nicer if there were a picnic table or chairs to sit on, or if there were some landscaping.
Jun 27, 2019Tiffany's place was nice, new and clean. We enjoyed our stay. She was very responsive to all inquiries. There is a (new?) shelf for shoes next to the door. The car port was convenient and the photo of it helpful, as that's the view of the apartment from the street. The bathroom was small but nice. The vessel sink allows the counter space around it to be used. It's glass and you can see items behind the sink so that nothing gets left behind. Apartment feels private despite having neighbors close by.
Jun 27, 2019Excellent communication with Tiffany throughout. The place was exactly as described. The location was perfect; two blocks to the beach and approximately 5 short blocks to town. The apartment was very clean and it had everything you might need. Towels were plentiful and the washer/dryer came in handy. I would highly recommend this property and Tiffany's oversight!

It was simple and efficient, having everything we needed in an open, bright, comfortable layout with great proximity to Kalama Beach and all the shops and restaurants. Very walkable if you don't mind walking a couple blocks to a mile on residential streets. The beds were surprisingly comfortable and the location couldn't be beat.
Jun 27, 2019The apartment is very well located. For us, two adults with two small children staying there 10 days, it was rather simply equipped. However, commuication with Tiffany was always good. In the first days, we did not have a dishwasher but Tiffany got one after we had asked for it. Moreover, everything is very new and it was very clean.

Jun 27, 2019This place was super great. We loved the location in Kailua, it was close to all the other places on the island that we wanted to explore and was outside Honolulu. It was in a quiet residential area. Tiffany had a welcome packet, some chocolates and a reusable bag waiting for us at the place. The home was clean and had all the things that were claimed on the website. It was within walking distance of some shops, restaurants, and the beach.
Jun 27, 2019The location was fantastic. It was a perfect cottage for two people. The neighborhood was quiet and friendly. I had never been to Kailua before and this spot is a great place to enjoy the town and only a short walk from the beach. I can't wait to come back!

I enjoyed the vibe of Kailua and the convenient location. It was perfect for someone who is looking to explore and experience something a little different than what the average tourist will experience. Tiffany communicated well with my group to make our stay issue-free!

We were with small kids and still needed our car because of all the things we like to take with small children but if not walking to the beach is feasible . The neighbourhood is calm and didn't have any issue . Washing mashing and dryer really convenient . There is a really good barbecue too which is really convenient to cook
Jun 27, 2019This is great cozy place in walking distance to the gorgeous beach at Kailua. Tiffany is an exemplary host. She keeps the place spotless and is proactive and friendly in her communication. She also took over organizing the delivery of extra baby equipment we needed, so that everything was already in place once we got there. The place even has extra goodies, like snorkeling gear, beach toys, and sun umbrellas. The kitchen is well equipped (it even has a countertop dishwasher). We enjoyed our stay!

While the space is not large it is setup nicely and was a great home base for our group of 4 adults and 2 kids to explore the entire island. Kailua is a fun little town with 3 perfect beaches within 10 minutes. Look forward to another visit soon!
Jun 27, 2019Tiffany's AirBnB was accurately described. We spent 5 nights at her place and we loved the accommodation. It was a short walk to the beach (approx 5-10mins). We had a car, although it would be 10-15min walk to local supermarket & restaurants. Tiffany's place is well equipped with beach gear, towels and a full kitchen. Her communication and check in was efficient and she was there to answer any questions throughout our stay. We would stay again - Thanks Tiffany!
Jun 27, 2019Kailua is one of those places that we've watched grow into a very popular destination by many and all. It's still fun and lovely and Tiffanys place was perfect for us. Being close to everything like beach and food is why we keep coming back and we would definitely return to tiffanys spot as it was quiet, had everything we needed (including a/c, washer/dryer, full stove, etc.). We met her for a brief moment and she is the sweetest person with great advice;) Look forward to staying again!

Jun 27, 2019This was the perfect place for myself and the two other people staying with me. Wonderful location a few blocks from the beach and close to Kailua town. Very clean with ammenities to making cooking, laundry, etc very easy. Tiffany was so accommodating when we wanted to check in a bit early and she provided clear instructions and recommendations in a handy booklet (and a welcome gift!) I would highly recommend this spot for anyone looking for a good value and a comfortable, clean house in Kailua.
Jun 27, 2019Fantastic rental! It is exactly as described, and even a little nicer in person! It is a very quick walk to the BEST swimming/relaxing beach in Oahu. The bedrooms are both comfortable. The living area is larger than the pictures make it out to be! The house is fully stocked with everything you need for a great vacation - towels, boogie boards, a blender, etc. A great value for friends or a family.
Jun 27, 2019I would like to write a good review of this place but I have to be honest about what the experience was like. This was a very important trip for my family - my father was meeting his 1 year old granddaughter for the first time as I live overseas . The listing says it sleeps 6 people . We were 3 adults and one baby and could not comfortably fit in the dwelling . The listing says it’s a cottage when in fact it’s a converted garage and is extremely small. When the sofa bed was out it left only a couple of feet to manoeuvre between the bed and kitchen and was very unsafe for the crawling baby . It was uncomfortable for 3 adults in the tiny bathroom as well, no room for toiletries by the sink. The bedrooms were extremely small and the foam mattresses very uncomfortable to sleep on . We had to leave early because the accomodation was not suitable for 3 adults and a baby which led to a very stressful experience using this Airbnb accomodation
Jun 27, 2019This home provided us with a wonderful base in Lanikai. We were within walking distance from restaurants and shops and a short drive from many more things. There was a fully stocked kitchen, so we were able to make blended baby food for our little one without any trouble at all. Finally, the common area was a perfect place for the baby to play. We loved it here and are so grateful for a lovely stay.

Jun 27, 2019Cleanliness wasnt good at all so had to do a deep clean as soon as we got there (moldy curtains, dust everywhere, ant problem, expired stuff in fridge) feel played for paying $165 for "cleaning fee". Its close to town but other than that it was really overpriced for what you get. Left it cleaner than we recieved it.

Jun 27, 2019Tiffany’s place was close to the beach and situated close enough to town to be able to walk there. Tiffany also had snorkeling gear which my teenagers made wonderful use of. It was so nice to not have to worry with locating and renting any equipment!
Jun 27, 2019This place is wonderful. Plenty of space for 4 of us, a short walk to the beach, and nearby plenty of restaurants. Approximately 30 minutes from most anything you could want to do(Honolulu, Waikiki area) and about an hour from the North Shore. All around awesome experience.
Jun 27, 2019The best thing about this house was the location. 8-10 minute walk to Kalama Beach and 10-15 minute walk into town where there’s a Whole Foods and many restaurants. The host Tiffany was great and very communicative. The house itself is very simple so don’t expect anything fancy. The neighborhood is quiet and safe feeling. The rooms were a bit dusty and the beds are not very comfortable but those would be my main complaints. Other than that, it’s a simple little house in a good location.

Jun 27, 2019We enjoyed this beach shack as we came to call it for three weeks. It’s a bit run down but the location is great. The host was quick to respond with a request to replace the bbq gas. Great for small family but size is tight for more than two adults. Kalama beach rules.

Jun 27, 2019Great location, 10 min walk to a beautiful beach that was never busy. All amenities within walking distance (coffee shops, restaurants, grocery store). We've stayed in Waikiki before and wanted something quieter but still drivable to all the tourist spots. This was the perfect combination! The home isn't huge but comfortably fit us (4 adults and a toddler). And the air conditioning was a life saver! Saw concerns that it wasn't in each bedroom, but leave the bedroom doors open and it's fine. Only issue was sugar ants, so couldn't leave any food out, but we saw another home with them so seems to be a local problem. If it doesn't bother you too much, this place is great! Also great to have snorkel and beach gear provided.

Jun 27, 2019Great little cottage just a few blocks from the beach and easy stroll to restaurants and bars, with Uber there as well when you want a lift. Good conveniences of the kitchen area and the cable TV, but the AC was a real winner, especially when hearing friends in houses nearby talk about trouble sleeping as their places didnt have the AC. Tiffany was prompt to respond to my questions before the trip as well, but I didn't need any assistance once there.

Jun 27, 2019Tiffany is a real pro, communication with her was perfection. The house is small for 5 (wife myself and 3 kids) but we managed fine. 2 couples would find this ideal. It is maybe a 10 minute walk to the beautiful beach OR into town. You could stay without a car if you wanted.. the beds were very comfortable. Plenty of kitchen accessories to make meals. Internet and TV were great but we did not really need it much. For the value this would be hard to beat. We really enjoyed Tiffany’s home.
Jun 27, 2019The inside is nice, if not a little small. The outside area is not very nice though. The entrance is a carport and very uninviting. The whole outside area needs some renewal and cleaning. If you don't mind a very cheap looking outside area, the location is pretty good and inside is in good shape.
Jun 27, 2019My group and I stayed at Tiffany's cottage over New Years this year and had a wonderful time. Tiffany was a great host - quick with responses, let us drop out bags off prior to the check in time, and even helped us find where we could watch fireworks on NYE! The cottage itself is a short walk to the beach and a short walk to cafe's and restaurants. We will definitely stay again if we find ourselves back in Oahu.
Jun 27, 2019A bit small, but cozy :) The enclosed yard & carport is really nice to have with kids. The kitchen isn’t super well-equipped for kids (bar-height chairs, no small / unbreakable dishes) but had the basics. There’s beach equipment for use & washer/dryer in the backyard, which were useful.
Jun 27, 2019Tiffany’s place was our home base for 8 nights, our first time to Hawaii with our baby. We were not looking for anything fancy, just a clean, convenient, more affordable option than a resort. This fit the bill! The kitchen and main room are clean, with updated appliances. Great shower! The second bedroom had plenty of room for a travel crib, and we loved having laundry on site, as well as grass in the backyard. Tiffany was an incredibly responsive host leading up to and during our stay. We enjoyed sunrises at Kalama Beach a couple blocks away, and each evening we’d walk/stroll to dinner in Kailua. As she recommended, Kailua Beach Park and Lanakai beaches were great for beach days with a toddler. Whole Foods, core power yoga studio, and target within walking distance were also a plus!

Great that towels were provided, sufficient kitchen items and parking etc. It is very close to the other properties on site as mentioned ( especially the shared yard). There were some bugs, but could be time of year/outlier. Didn’t use AC because of some mold but didn’t need it for time of year with windows. Overall, we were there for the beautiful beach and place to sleep so served its purpose for us! Tiffany was great at responding leading up to check in etc.
