Our main concern is consideration for our downstairs tenant. This is a strictly non-smoking property, including on the back deck/back yard. Noise must be kept down from 10 PM to 10 AM especially on the downstairs floor. Trash and recycling must be managed as explained in the house guide.

The second my co workers arrived to launch our business in the east coast, Adina was there to greet us! Stelian & Deanna's home was cozy and felt like a home away from home. Adina was a great and very helpful hostess. She answered all our questions and was very available by cell. Thank you for making our experience in NYC a memorable one.
Jun 27, 2019Some might say it's the real deal - a grand, traditional brownstone apartment in Brooklyn. We very much enjoyed our stay here. The flat was spacious, well-equipped and spotlessly clean. There was plenty of space for our family of 5 as one of the bedrooms has a 2 double beds and lots of storage space. Adina was our host who was extremly efficient and helpful. She even went to the trouble of buying us a DVD player whilst we were there as the apartment didn't have one. The neighbourhood is what could be described as up and coming. It has pockets of gentrification but still is very much a regular, vibrant area which we enjoyed. As we have young children we weren't often out late at night but I'd say there are probably safer areas (but definitely many that would be more dangerous!) It's close to the speedy subway express subway line A. We went to Manhatten most days but did visit the excellent Children's Museum, Prospect Park etc in Brooklyn. Can recommend a special doughnut bakery called Dough....
Jun 27, 2019It was a perfect house for two couples. We had all the privacy we needed (big bedrooms, two bathrooms). Subway to the city is near, just a short walk. Although the neighborhood is still developing, it is safe and very quite, which was so nice when you come back from loud city. You can hear birds singing in the morning and we even had squirrels visiting back yard :) We had excellent communication with our host. I would recommend this to people who love peaceful place to stay while visiting NYC.
Jun 27, 2019We had a wonderful stay, the house is a magnificent place to stay, spotlessly clean and well equipped. The kids had all the space they needed to play around. It was sometimes difficult to find some parking place around the house, but we always managed in the end. Area is rather authentic, some streets around seems quite rough, but we never felt unsecure, and Macon st itself is beautiful and very peaceful. Brian and Adina were very nice and helpful, and welcomed us warmly. Great place for family!
Jun 27, 2019My family absolutely loved their stay here. The brownstone was beautiful and most importantly very clean. Just as nice as the photos. They were really helpful with getting everything set up as my family decided to come at the last minute. Very good communicators and nice people. My parents are already looking forward to their next visit. Have already recommended to other people.
Jun 27, 2019Adina and Brian are very good hosts, we are a family of 8 persons with a baby and we spent 8 nights in New York, we got very good memories, we really liked the house, the subway is 5 minutes and there are restaurants nearby very nice. The photos are identical to the house. Bian Adina thank you very much and have been very happy in New York
Jun 27, 2019We had a great experience staying at this place. The brownstone is big and well stocked-just as advertised. We visited NY with another family, and there was plenty of room in the house for everyone. The house was clean and ready when we arrived. The kitchen had enough dishes and cooking gear for a good size group. There is plenty of street parking, if you are travelling by car. The subway is about 7-10 minute walking distance, which is very convenient. There is also a cool back-yard, but we had too much fun in the city and did not have time to use it. The area, which is predominantly African American, was perfectly safe. The only downside, is that the neighborhood can get loud at night, but this is New York, after all. We had a great stay in New York and are very grateful that we had a chance to stay at this house.
Jun 27, 2019This is a super place to relax in when staying in NYC. It is beautiful and is well equipped. We were a group of two families and it was perfect. There are lovely bars and restaurants closeby and it's close to the subway. Brian met us and showed us around the house. He was great too. I can't wait to return.
Jun 27, 2019We enjoyed our Brooklyn stay very much! Our hosts, Stelian & Deanna Dragan - Retzer, provided great accommodations for us, including apply food for our first breakfasts. We found the City easily accessible from our location, as were groceries and good restaurants.
Jun 27, 2019Coming in as a traveling circus for the Fringe Festival Stelian & Deanna's beautiful brownstone provided us a wonderful place to retreat to away from the hustle of Manhattan. Six of us were very comfortable in their home and could easily find our own nook to nestle in if we needed solitude. The neighborhood is lively and charming with plenty of hidden gems to seek out for food - Peaches, Bedford Hill, Scratch, Saraghina, The Pantry, just to name a few - and has managed to resist the gentrification that has swallowed the intimacy of many other Brooklyn neighborhoods. The home also has a great kitchen and lovely back yard if you choose to prepare your own food. Traveling to and from the brownstone, be it to Manhattan or through the neighborhood, I always felt safe and secure. Adina and Hayley, who helped to manage our stay in Stelian & Deanna's absence, were always attentive, helpful and kind. I highly recommend this brownstone to all and hope to return soon.
Jun 27, 2019The place is as cute as the pictures, very comfy and spacious it feels like home. We enjoyed having a place like this to come back to at the end of each crazy New York day. We had clean towels and sheets upon our arrival. It had all the comforts of home including movies, to choose from for a relaxing evening or rainy day and excellent wifi. The kitchen is nicely equipped for cooking needs as well, although there are places nearby that have some pretty good food. We highly recommend this place and would stay here again.
Jun 27, 2019This is a Great place to stay while in NY!! There were 5 of us staying there and we had more than enough room. I loved the fact that we had a bathroom with counter space vs. a tiny pedestal sink. All rooms are very spacious!! Loved the architecture and hard wood floors.Brian met us there and took great care of us! He was an awesome host. We had a small maintenance issue during our stay and he came over right away and took care of it. It was very hot while we were there and the window units kept us plenty cool. We walked to the small grocery store around the corner a couple of times and also enjoyed the italian restaurant Brian recommended. The only downer for us was we had my elderly mom with us who doesn't do too well with stairs and the bathrooms are all on the 2nd level. A little challenging for her, but not the rest of us. I would definitely stay here again and highly recommend to others. You won't be disapointed!!
Jun 27, 2019It is a beautiful appartment with plenty of space, light and comfort. I enjoyed getting to know Brooklyn but the commute to work in midtown Manhattan took quite some time (45/50 minutes). The neighbourhood is mainly residential and some distance from the more lively areas further north and west. Adina and her team were welcoming.
Jun 27, 2019This is an absolutely BEAUTIFUL brownstone in the heart of Brooklyn. Spacious, clean and perfect for families and/or groups of friends to stay for an extended period of time. Adina, Brian and Jessica were extremely courteous and checked in with us numerous times during and after our stay. Once we arrived, Brian even hung around for a while to share with us local restaurants and grocery stores we'd like to visit while staying there. I highly recommend this location and working with this team. I appreciate their service and the hospitality they showed our family.
Jun 27, 2019The Brownstone is in good shape, has a few modern updates and is situated in a residential area with some good local restaurants close by. Our experiences at Peaches (both of them) and Saraghina were great. The main floor kitchen, dining and living areas are well situated and well stocked with condiments and the little things to assist with home cooked meals. The main bath was nicely appointed and the laundry worked well. We had some issues with the alarm system that was resolved by Brian. He was kind enough to bring over some fruit and original NY bagels and cream cheese for us to try when he came to assist. The neighborhood seems safe, with friendly folks on the street at all hours, coming and going but as another reviewer said can be a bit noisy at times. The A-C Subway lines provided reliable transportation and were about a 10 minute walk to Utica Av station. We used the 7 day unlimited Metro card to go all over not just Manhattan. No car is required to get around. Adina and her group were very accommodating and had also arranged our airport pickup for us. Overall, don't expect the Fairmont Plaza experience but this is a nice place to stay in Brooklyn.
Jun 27, 2019Great place! Very much enjoyed our stay!
Jun 27, 2019I can't say enough good things about this spot or Adina, the lovely woman who manages the property. We are a local family who needed temporary housing at the VERY last minute and Adina was so helpful and gracious. The property itself is charming, well stocked, quiet and one block away from our very favorite Brooklyn restaurant, Saranghina. Communication was effortless and the one tiny issue we had (we just preferred the hot water a little hotter) was resolved instantaneously. I swear she had a plumber there within five minutes! Highest possible recommendation!
Jun 27, 2019The appartment was very comfortable with everything we need there. The bed in the second bedroom was not terribly comfortable and too narrow for two people. The main bed in the master bedroom had a ?plastic cover on the matress which is not great. The area is interesting and quite close to subway stations. however it is a subway ride to the more interesting and hip areas in Brooklyn which are wonderful to browse around.
Jun 27, 2019The Brownstone is really a nice place to stay in Brooklyn. It is spacious for a family of four, clean and comfortably equipped, exactly as on the photos shown. It's a ten minutes walk to the A (express) line to Manhattan and it takes about 25 min. to Central Park from Utica Avenue. There are supermarkets, groceries and restaurants nearby (we can recommend "Bread Love", Stuyvesant Av. 375; they offer breakfest, a small variety of lunch and dinner, also for take-away, fair prices, and the cookies were the best we've ever eaten ...) Adina arranged our airport pickup which was also very comfortable if you are the first time in NYC (although the brownstone is easily to reach from JFK with airtrain and line A). Eddie was a very nice driver and showed us the house. We highly recommend this place and are looking forward to coming back again !
Jun 27, 2019We had a lovely time at the cosmopolitan brownstone sanctuary . We were four people and had more than enough room . Adina was lovely , we could ask her all the time when we had any questions . We can recommend this place without no doubt . We would love to come back.
Jun 27, 2019Very central location in Bed-Stuy, with the neighborhood's best spots easily within walking distance. Spacious home and very responsive property manager.
In casa c'è wi-fi. Ovviamente consiglierò l'appartamento a chi mi chiederà suggerimenti per pernottare a New York.
Jun 27, 2019We stayed at Macon Street for two weeks in June and we loved it. We chose this house specifically because it had enough room for 4 people. We were not disappointed! There was more than enough space and privacy for two couples. Besides that it's a lovely house with lots of character. We really felt at home here and it was wonderful to relax on the soft sofa after a long day in the city. We really loved the neighborhood, there were all kinds of great places to eat and hang out. You'll find them all on Adina's Map of Brooklyn that's in the apartment. We liked Saraghina the best, but we also loved Peaches! One addition to the list is Brunswick, around the corner and great for breakfast and lunch. Transportation to Manhattan was very easy: with the A Train it's a 15 minute ride to downtown. But we also really loved Brooklyn and Bed Stuy in particular! For at least 5 days we didn't even go to Manhattan. If we would have to name one down side to this place it would be that the bar around the corner sometimes plays loud music (only in the weekend at night, but until late). Other than that, we were very happy and Adina and her team responded quickly to our minor issues (putting the A/C units in when we asked). We hope to visit again some day!
Jun 27, 2019We had a very good week at your house, thank you! The house is very comfortable, nicely located and convenient for subway. High ceiling makes the house very airy and roomy. Although some hitches with the wifi system but all very happy and left with a good memory. Highly recommended. From the Ling family
Jun 27, 2019Hello everyone.. we've been hosted by Stelian from july 26 to august 14 this year in Macon Street. Bed - Stuy neighborhood of is strange place to live and to visit. is basically a neighborhood in evolution. in our block of Macon street there were few abandoned houses close to houses super cool. To get downtown (Brooklyn / Manhattan) you have to take the B26 bus for 4 stops and then the subway (A express or C local not so huge differences) . in 45 minutes you can go anywhere in Manhattan. The only real problem is that it is not logistically affordable to return home in the afternoon and then go back to the city in the evening. so be prepared remaining in the neighb or not come back home before nightfall. Plus : great area, nice people (African Americans, Africans and Latinos different), some very nice cafes and restaurants. Minus: very few shops in the area except Norstrand / Fulton st. but a lot of Deli's 24h (all quite similar). The house: the house is terrific. Convenient, comfortable, really nice. It seems everything is still up to the early twenties .. the wooden staircase, parquet, the two very large bedrooms, double living room and kitchen. all really nice. If I can find some small minus (otherwise what review would be ??), I'd give a general refresher with particular attention to the handles of the rooms and the doors frame Wifi. I think that is the biggest issue now for all the guest of Airbnb. Internet at home has its hub in the basement and then in the rooms of the second floor is not so good. Host: we had a small problem with the shower and Stelian took immediately care of it.. and sent us a caretaker (great guy) to fix it. instead, The mysterious Adina managed all the stuff (check in check out ect.. by email and phone, and has proved to be very efficient. Thanks again for everything. we had a really great time in Bed-Stuy
Jun 27, 2019We stayed here with other family members for our daughter's wedding. What a perfect place for our family! Spacious, airy, tastefully decorated and comfortable. We felt at home sitting around the dining room table with our coffee in the morning. Of course, a walk to Andres-George's coffee shop was another option. Fantastic chocolate almond pastries! We contacted Adina a week before arrival to make sure everything was in order. She answered her phone promptly which assured us we would be able to contact her in NY if needed. Check in was simple. The lock box was very easy. Parking required a pass around the block looking for a space, but not a problem. Note that garbage pickup requires moving your car to one side of the street on some weekday mornings. Apparently locals simply double park, but something you might want to check on. The house is beautifully maintained. Simple furnishings, bright, airy and clean. We couldn't have been more pleased. New kitchen and bath renovations were an added bonus. A lovely backyard we did not make use of...perhaps next time. Great restaurants. Saraghina's and Peaches we highly recommend. A corner grocery for any small necessities. We were aware of the the possible loud music around the corner on the weekends from a previous review. It was loud, but the new windows and doors were pretty good at deadening the noise. We thoroughly enjoyed walking around the neighborhood and taking advantage of the fabulous food and architecture. A delightful stay. We hope to visit again!
Jun 27, 2019We had a great time here. Wonderful and clean house in a very quiet but well equipped area, close to Manhattan via A and C subway lines.. all the photos can't describe its beauty! The choice to stay in Stelian & Deanna's house made our experience in NYC unforgettable and unique. Special thanks to Jessica for her kindness and prompt help.
Jun 27, 2019What a great place! Close to the express subway and just around the corner from good cafes, restaurants, and bars. Spacious, clean, and quiet. Very cute backyard. And a renovation job that's the perfect combination of modern (bathroom and kitchen) and original-detail classic. I wish we could have stayed longer!
Jun 27, 2019All was fine at this brownstone house. Jessica cared about everything, once we left a message. (It would be good to have a working cell phone number, Jess, just in case of...). Nice people in the neighborhood, stores, restaurants and café in walking distance. We were 5 people, not all family, and it was good to have the 2 bathrooms. Kitchen well equipped, and lots of space in this apartment. Would rent again, and can only recommend!
Jun 27, 2019Six of us stayed in this charming apartment for 4 days. It was clean and spacious. There were plenty of clean linens and towels to accommodate all of us. Having a kitchen and a place to do laundry was also convenient. The commute to Manhattan was easy - just a short walk and a 20 minute or so train ride. The hosts were incredibly responsive to all of our needs and answered our phone calls immediately when we had a couple of questions. This was a much better alternative than an over priced hotel in the city. I would definitely stay here again!
Jun 27, 2019We had a fantastic time at this property in Bed Stuy. Jessica was the most helpful host in the owners absence. Jessica was easy to get hold of and responded extremely quickly to any of our queries. The place was immaculate and a very large living space for the 8 of us that visited. It was only a couple of blocks to the express train meaning it was only 20 minutes traveling time for us to get to and from Manhattan. We can only recommend the place as we had a wonderful stay. Thank you for having us!
Jun 27, 2019We loved it in Bed Stuy! Our host Jessica was really helpful and answered all our questions. It's a beautiful house, the photos are true! Bed Stuy is a 'rough diamond'. There is a mix of class and culture but we found everyone polite and welcoming.
Jun 27, 2019Stelian and Deanna's home was large, warm and welcoming and very clean, which really impressed me (being a fusspot). Jessica, who manages the property, was super efficient and helpful, and when we had a minor problem in one of the bathrooms, it was fixed immediately and efficiently. Stelian was also very helpful and patient when I had to call him when we arrived in Brooklyn in regard to directions, etc. Once we know about the key in the lockbox it was easy to use, although the locks were a bit tricky to negotiate at first, especially with one of the key sets. We are so pleased that we decided to stay in this area of Brooklyn and got the chance to stay in this gorgeous, majestic and large brownstone. We look forward to coming back in the warmer months - the snow outside was very pretty but oh so cold...
Jun 27, 2019We had a wonderful stay at Cosmopolitan Brownstone! A family of five with three teenagers enjoyed every minute of this beautiful spacious place. Jessica our property manager was very service minded, helping us out when needed, making everything at the best. The apartment is well equipped, clean and nicely furnished. Especially happy about kitchen and bathroom facilities having a big family. This Brooklyn home enlarged our NY experience with it's charming atmosphere, easy to get by, only 20 minutes away from Manhattan with the A train. For sure a place we will recommend to friends who would like to have a convenient and genuin NY experience. Thanks again Stelian and Deanna, if me may we'd be happy to return any day! Poa and Henrik Samuelberg Stockholm, Sweden
Jun 27, 2019Stelian and Deanna's lovely property is spacious, and very clean! We felt right at home. Jessica, who cares for the brownstone, was very helpful, both before our stay(e-mailing back and forth with us) and during our stay(being available by phone for a few questions). The only negative point, that we felt, was the neighborhood. The website sites the property to being "on one of the best blocks of Brooklyn's hottest neighborhoods.". We didn't find it to be so.
Jun 27, 2019The home was tastefully designed and decorated, the kitchen well equipped with cooking necessities and plenty of towels and blankets. Their caretaker Jessica was very responsive to our needs. There are a few restaurants and stores around, but not as much as the bustling Bushwick area right above Bed-Stuy. With their beautiful backyard and high ceiling, this home is very well suited for families/groups that want a calm and relaxing stay.
Jun 27, 2019Stelian and Deanna accepted a last minute reservation for my family over the holidays after we had another airbnb host canceled our original reservation in New York. It is difficult to find a home in New York City that is comfortable for 7 people and this was simply perfect. Everyone had a comfortable place to sleep, and the kitchen and dining area allowed us to cook and eat together. We had to travel a bit to get to our favorite restaurants, cafes, and attractions but it was worth it to be able to have a space that was beautiful and comfortable for all of us. Thank you Stelian and Deanna!
Jun 27, 2019We stayed in Stelian & Deannas beautiful home for over a month and loved every single day of it! The area is fantastic with lovely small shops and restaurants and the apartment was perfect. Large and with an amazing atmosphere. We were well taken care of with fast feedback on any questions we had. Definitely recommend this place!
Jun 27, 2019This was the second time we stayed at this amazing place and we loved it! The area is getting more lush and beautiful for every day and I can't recommend this place enough.
Jun 27, 2019The house is amazing, full of character and quirks. I stayed for a month and it truly felt like home by the end. The area is well worth exploring, sadly I had injured my ankle so was limited to just the immediate neighborhood. However there are still some great places a few mins walk from the front door; an interesting Wine shop, many great restaurants, and places to drink. Thanks for letting me stay
Jun 27, 2019I highly recommend this place for all families and big parties! This house is very spacious and big enough to house my entire family. The description and pictures are very accurate, and Jessica was very accommodating to any of our needs. Thank you for making our NYC trip amazing!
Jun 27, 2019We had a great stay. Beautiful house, awesome backyard, nice neighborhood and the host was extremely responsive and took care of us. Small things like plenty of towels too -- which goes a long way. Also the place was VERY clean unlike other AirBnBs we've stayed in. Would love to stay there again.
Jun 27, 2019We had very wonderful experience living as a local Brooklyn at S&D's House. The house is old as all other historical Brownstone houses in Brooklyn, but having well mataince with nice little garden! Will stay there again if we had any chance to come back!
Jun 27, 2019Spacious clean place, great for families. We really enjoyed staying there and made good use of that backyard!
Jun 27, 2019Great stay! Amazing space with so much history. Ample beds and great space for a large party or family with kids. (they have books and toys for kids to play with)
Jun 27, 2019We (4 couples) stayed 6 nights in this nice house in Brooklyn. The neighborhood is nice and safe, with everything you need : bars, restaurants, bike rental and grocery shops. It is rather close to the subway that gets directly to Manhattan. We spent most of the days outside and basicly just slept there, but we certainly enjoyed the large living area and the garden. We didn't use it much (except for morning tea/coffee), but the house has a proper kitchen that can be handful if you want to prepare lunch or dinner. We also liked the 2 bathrooms that made easy for 8 people to get ready in the morning! When booking, we didn't notice that one of the beds would be an air mattress (it is only mentioned "3 beds" but nothing about the 4th) and it deflated during the first night. Jessica (the appartment manager) replaced it right away the next day and we didn't have more troubles after that. Overall, we had a great time at the appartment . Jessica was easy to reach, friendly and attentive.
Jun 27, 2019What a beautiful comfortable home in Brooklyn. Residential neighborhood close to the subway. The kitchen has all that you need for preparing meals even though we only cooked breakfast and snacks. Having 2 baths was a real bonus. Our hosts were in contact to assist in anyway and that felt very comforting. Can't wait to come back!
Jun 27, 2019My friends and I had an absolutely fantastic time at S&D's home over the NYE holiday season. The place is a 10 minute walk to the A train, which brings you into midtown in ~25 minutes. This made transportation that much easier. We weren't in contact with S&D too much, but the property manager, Jess, was super responsive with communication and helped us check-in. The house comes equipped with a lot of extras, dishes, spices, glasses, cooking supplies, towels, toiletries, that really helped if anybody were to forget to bring something. This made the stay that much more comfortable. If you're larger group of people is looking to stay in a large, comfortable brownstone apartment in the heart of Bed-Stuy this should be high up on your list. Thanks S&D!
Jun 27, 2019Communication was great. House was spacious, beautifully maintained, even better than the photos. All in all, a highly personalized, special experience.
O Metrô é perto e a vizinhança tranquila.
Jun 27, 2019The host canceled this reservation 20 days before arrival. This is an automated posting.
Jun 27, 2019Stelian & Deanna's place is a wonderful and spacious house! It's totally equipped, rooms are huge, the main bathroom is also fantastic. There was a wardrobe full of clean towels and sheets for us to self-serve. Internet works reliably. Heating system is flawless. Communication is super responsive and they were always standing by in case we needed help with anything. A great temporary home for your NY stay!
Jun 27, 2019Great experience. The house is just as beautiful as it looks in the pictures, and has everything you need for a very comfortable stay. Lots of space, enough for our group of five adults. Two bathrooms, which is an absolute plus, if you are staying with more than two people. The house is situated in a safe and quiet neighbourhood, walking distance to the closest A-train station: 10 minutes, which makes it easy to go to Manhattan as well as to JFK-airport. Lots of parking space in front of the house, if you arrive by car. Bars and restaurants are right around the corner, make sure to check out „Zaka“ for great breakfast, lunch or dinner, just across the street on Garvey boulevard, which opened the week before we arrived. Great food, lovely staff, brilliant chef. Communication was excellent, we had one or two questions, that were answered immediately. Check in was smooth and easy, check out very generous, as we were allowed to keep our luggage in the house, until we had to go to the airport. It was a perfect stay, highly recommendable, would definitely return, if we came to NYC again.
Jun 27, 2019A very beautiful and clean home. The pictures are accurate. We didn’t have much communication with the hosts during our stay (wasn’t required). However, they are extremely particular about their home so if you have young children or are looking for a homey experience this may not be the place for you. It’s more like staying in a museum- security guards included. They sent us a bill after checkout for over 2,000 dollars and said they would send another related to steaming their sofa and other activities related to what we consider routine cleaning after guest departures. The tenant downstairs is also pretty uptight. That said, it’s a spacious and clean house but not suitable for young families or anyone not up for walking around on eggshells.
Jun 27, 2019The pictures do not do the place justice. Plenty of space and great location!
Jun 27, 2019The place is lovely and very spacious, just as you can see in pictures. The neighborhood is very beautiful and I felt very safe. I walked at night from the subway alone and it was OK. Also, it is 10 minutes away from the subway, but it's like 45 min from Manhattan (trains can take their time to get to the station and you have to consider rush hours, delays, etc), so it may be exhausting sometimes, specially if you walk a lot during the day and then want to get out at night! And Stelian and Deanna were very nice (we didn't meet them), they helped us with our questions and doubts very soon.
Jun 27, 2019The place was clean and safe, good amenities. Could be nice if some areas were refurbished.
Jun 27, 2019Great place to stay always!
Jun 27, 2019Loved the house; it was beautiful and well-positioned for exploration. Had a great time and would definitely stay again.
Jun 27, 2019amazing property!
