Come to our village of Glebe and you'll find a myriad of cafés and restaurants, foreshore walk ways, parklands and proximity to the wonderful city of Sydney with all that it and its beautiful harbour have to offer. Travel to the city by light rail (tram), by bus, an inexpensive taxi or simply walk. In Glebe besides fantastic food, there are bookshops, fashion stores and collectables. On Saturday visit Glebe Markets on the grounds of Glebe Public School. 'The Glebe' was given to the church by the Governour in the first few years of European settlement as a means for the church to support itself. Most of the suburb was sub-dived and built upon in the 1880's and the vast majority of the terraces you'll see today were built in that era. Workers unions and left wing politicians managed to fend off building developers in the 1970's resulting in charming terraced townhouses and cottages surviving so close the the city skyscrapers.

You’ll be in the centre of the inner-inner west and just a hop to the city centre, get about and make the most of it. (Hidden by Airbnb) Maps on a 4G smartphone will make your trip so much easier. WALKING; Walking is a great way to see the area as everything is so close for the average walker. It's only 10min walk to the fish markets and only 20min to Darling Harbour. The shops at the top of the street are 2min walk and it's a mere 2min to the wonderful Glebe foreshore parklands. At the bottom of Forsyth Street turn right and you can walk along the waterfront all the way to the city via the fish markets (with a few street portions). If you turn left at the bottom of Forsyth Street, it's a beautiful waterfront parkland walk as far as Annandale.
