The neighborhood here is very nice. It is generally quiet except for the occasional firetruck, or sometimes local parties by neighbors. Shutting a window keeps out most noise. It is NYC after all, so it's not rural quiet. Saint Pauls avenue is filled with old Victorian houses that are very nice to see and create a pleasant area. There are restaurants nearby, and a store about 4 blocks away for food items and other needs. It is about 12 minutes to walk to the Ferry or 2-5 minutes by bus. The areas towards the Ferry can appear run down in some spots. Again, this is NYC, filled with a great diversity of people. The area is safe, but it is not Disneyland.

THERE IS NO CLEANING FEE. Expect normal lived-in conditions for the house. Some people like to describe the house as "run-down". Bathrooms and floors cleaned once a week! The local buses all run down Victory blvd (about 2 blocks away) towards the Ferry. The Ferry is 24/7 and runs every 30 minutes, 15 during rush hours and is free. There are also buses that go to Bay Ridge, Brooklyn (about (Phone number hidden by Airbnb) minute ride).

From Manhattan side you have the 4/5 express trains, 1 train, and R train as well as Manhattan buses and tour buses, and Battery Park with ferries to Statue of Liberty, and Ferry to Governors Island.
