The apartment is way smaller than it looks in the photos and had a strong smell of cooking. The owners normally use it as their apartment so there is no wardrobe space etc. I didn't enjoy my time in the apartment.
Jun 27, 2019We stayed here for 5 nights and really enjoyed our stay. Kate was our host, and she made sure that we felt very welcome and was available to answer any questions that we had. Checking in and out was very easy. It has a great location and neighborhood.
Jun 27, 2019The location of the apartment is fantastic but the space was even smaller than expected. Upon meeting the host, she was drinking water from a wine glass that she dumped out, did not clean, and oddly left on the counter. We also noticed that the wine glass was the only actual glass in the whole apartment aside from two mugs. Apart from the glasses issue, there was also no silverware. If we had decided to utilize the kitchen, we wouldn't have been able to do so. In addition, we were only given two towels for showering but no hand towels or washcloths. The internet didn't work all that well and we were told we could access Netflix, which we couldn't get running. All in all, if you are looking for a fairly inexpensive place to stay in a great neighborhood, this apartment is fine. In the end it was very bare bones and only provides a place to sleep.

It's very important to note that the place is small, which at the end didn't matter that much, but what really was something of big concern is that the place was not clean at all, there was no space for clothes, bathroom is super small, towels smell really bad. In summary it was a bad experience.

Jun 27, 2019Kate and Miguel were great from the beginning to the end. They responded to my emails promptly, Kate showed up when she said she would and didn't bother us when we were there. Very nice people! A+ The apartment is small just as they state in their listing and the bathroom is really tiny but if you just need a clean, safe place to sleep while in town it is perfect! Great for a get a way :)
Jul 27, 2019This was our first booking with Airbnb and we were really pleased with how it all went. Kate was very welcoming and helpful and responded quickly if we had any queries during our stay. The apartment is very well located, clean, warm, cosy and comfortable. We felt it was very good value for money and it suited our purposes very well. It became a home from home for us.

Jun 27, 2019Kate was super sweet and very accommodating. The location could not have been more amazing. There are quite a few restaurants and bodegas in the area, so it' easy to get things as needed. I was in town for a quick work trip, so I wasn't super concerned with space, which is limited, but the bedroom is a good size and comfortable. NY isn't exactly known for it's spacious living quarters. :) All in all a great experience and would definitely stay again.

Jun 27, 2019Miguel and kate's apartment is in a really good spot. quiet but close to transport. the apartment is small, smaller than it looks in the photo, but fine for the 2 of us. kate was easily contactable and prompt in responding to questions. I'd recommend their apartment to anyone looking for a cosy base to explore the city from.

Jun 27, 2019Our host, Kate, was very responsive and thorough in her communication throughout our stay. The apartment was small but comfortable for 2 guests and very clean. The building was quiet and secure. The midtown location was very convenient and close to subway and bus transportation.

Jun 27, 2019Muy buenos anfitriones, nos estaban esperando en el departamento apenas llegamos y nos explicaron todo. El departamento se encuentra muy bien ubicado, ya que al estar en el medio de NY, desde ahi se puede salir caminando o en subte para todo Manhattan. Un lugar para recomendar.
Jun 27, 2019Miguel and his family were very nice and patient. My guest and I were behind schedule and missed check in. The space is small but cute. More attention should be given to cleaning. The fridge was dirty. The couch was dirty as well. Underneath the couch cushions there was food crumbs and animal hair. The tv didnt work either.

The location is great - an easy walk to midtown, Central Park and numerous bars and restaurants. Miguel and Kate are very easy to communicate with so check in/out was very easy. Would recommend this apartment!

Jun 27, 2019Tuvimos un contratiempo para llegar a horario y nos esperaron sin problemas para entregarnos las llaves. El departamento es tal cual como se describe en las fotos. Es ideal para dos personas. El baño es pequeño pero así es la generalidad en NY. En cuanto al barrio, la ubicación es muy buena, está cerca del subte que conecta todo NY, hay supermercados cerca, bares y la zona es segura.

Jun 27, 2019Great Location and great place for couples or people traveling alone to NYC, it is 2 blocks to a subway station and there are a few places to eat on the corner. There is a laundry like 2 blocks away in case you need it, also you can ask the host about anything and they will help you, they are very responsive
Jun 27, 2019Miguel was incredibly accommodating and a really stellar host. Due to flight delays, we arrived in the city in the middle of the night. Miguel was flexible and stayed up so that we could get our keys at 2am. The apartment was clean and close to subway stops and Central Park - a fine jumping off pad for exploring the city. The bed was not particularly comfortable but we didn't come to New York to sleep. All in all, we were impressed by Miguel's commitment to providing a positive experience and for his excellent level of service and communication.

Jun 27, 2019The apartement is at a great location. There are restaurants, shops and subway stations close by. Everything was clean and neat. The bathroom is quite small, but works just fine. There even was a hairdryer to use. Kate&Miguel are really nice and easy to get in touch with. They even gave us bad weather suggestions. Definitely a recommendation if you look for a nice place to stay in NYC.

Jun 27, 2019Here in the center of the Upper East Side is a small, quiet apartment that offers privacy and easy access to UES life without the hassle of cabs and subways. It is clean and had everything one needs to relax, rest up, and get out into the city. The host Miguel and Kate treated me like and old friend giving me advice where to eat and helping me with my late arrival. I really felt like I had the New York City experience staying in their home. One last note: Their bedroom looks out on a courtyard, which allows tree-filtered light to flow into the apartment. In addition, the courtyard provides a buffer so that it was so quiet that I almost overslept in the morning! Thank you, Kate and Miguel.

Jun 27, 2019Superbe communication avec Kate & Miguel aussi bien avant le départ que pendant le séjour. Réponse quasi immédiate, ultra pratique lorsque l'on cherche quelque chose une fois sur NYC. Accueil sur place un peu rapide ils semblaient pressés nous sommes arrivés vers 18h30, surement un peu tard. Par contre très arrangeants à l'arrivée comme au départ. Confiance est le maître mot, et ça fait plaisir. Appartement plutôt bien situé, à quelques pas de Central Park (5 à 10min à pieds), proche de toutes commodités (metro, taxis...). Un peu petit pour une famille je pense, nous étions 2. La salle de bain est très très petite, mais cela dit suffisante pour ce que nous avons à y faire. Pas de table de salle à manger nous avons dû improviser une table basse avec la table de chevet, plus pratique pour le petit déj'. Appartement un peu vétuste à notre goût, propre mais il ne faut pas regarder dans la précision. Ne comptez pas ranger vos vêtements dans les armoires elles sont pleines, comme si quelqu'un vivait vivait ici. Pas bien grave, pour 5 jours tout est resté dans les valises. La chambre est grande et cosy, on s'y sent bien. Le lit est de bonne qualité. Dans l'ensemble je recommanderais

We ended up grabbing a bite at a place called The Jeffrey about a block away, it was a great gastropub. My wife and I absolutely recommend Miguel's place for your stay!

Kate did a wonderful job welcoming us to the city and giving us recommendations on where to go and what to do. Miguel was quick to respond to my messages and was flexible on the checkout time. Great apartment that is close to central park and multiple subway stops. Highly recommend, and would stay here again!
Jun 27, 2019The description of the place was very accurate. It is a cozy and clean apartment located in a nice area that is close to public transport, shops, and restaurants. Most significant was the exceptional kindness and hospitality of the hosts. They were extremely accommodating in my arrival and departure times. They also were very helpful in logistics, with great ideas on how to get around and feel at home in a city like New York. I will definitely stay there again when I return.

The bed was comfortable and the apartment was quiet. The neighborhood was in the perfect location for what we wanted to see/do. I would definitely recommend this place for anyone visiting NYC.

В любое время ребята помогали нам советом,начиная от того где метро,как пройти до него,где купить продукты и где самые хорошие рестораны и магазины. Ребята встретили нас с шампанским! Квартира маленькая,но для Манхеттена это нормально. В туалете очень тесно,коленками упираешься в дверь. К вартире есть вся необходимая посуда и электроприборы. Нет обеденного стола. Нам приходилось кушать либо стоя,либо на пуфике. Нет стиральной машины. Соседи очень шумные. Звукоизоляции практически нет! Слышно всех. Постельное белье застиранное и пахнет. Было неприятно спать. Полотенце тоже не очень. Кровать не удобная. В целом район спокойный,метро рядом,Катя очень отзывчивая и приветливая. Спасибо Вам.
Jun 27, 2019Notre séjour chez Miguel s'est très bien passé. Nous nous sommes à peine croisés le soir de notre arrivée, mais sa compagne nous a attendu malgré notre retard. Le logement est confortable malgré la présence de bruit assez important dans la chambre. Il est également bien placé, nous le recommandons donc!

They were flexible with my check in time and were very accommodating. Very cozy house and the main thing is that their place is so close and convenient to everything.

And they allowed us to check out a couple of hours later for our convenience. The apartment is cozy and warm. And the location is perfect. We'll definitely be here again in NY next time.

Jun 27, 2019Miguel and Kate were wonderful hosts. They allowed us to check in early and check out late due to the given circumstances, and facilitated both in a very smooth manner. The apartment is exactly as you see it in the pictures, it is perfect for one or two people to stay for just the amount of time to endulge in all that New York City has to offer. Great location and good commodities. A slightly smaller bathroom than one would expect but it gets the job done. Would stay again and would recommend.

Jun 27, 2019Miguel y Kate fueron muy atentos y amables en todo momento, nos tocaron días fríos en NY y amablemente nos proporcionaron un pequeño calentador y una cobija extra. El departamento es pequeño pero con todo lo esencial, tal y como se ve en las fotos, a unos 5 min caminando se encuentran estaciones de metro, queda en una zona muy céntrica cerca de las principales atracciones de la ciudad.

Jun 27, 2019This was a typical New York apartment. The price was very reasonable for the excellent location. The best part about our stay was the location (can't be beat), and working with Miguel. He was very flexible with our arrival as our flight was delayed. He also was very quick with his response time to messages and concerns. The apartment itself was small, especially the bathroom. There was only room for one person to stand. The bathroom needed some freshening up of the space. A few cleaning items had been missed (dirty microwave that didn't appear to work, floors had not been swept and hair on the bed cover), but overall a nice basic place to sleep in a fantastic neighborhood.

Flat was quaint, comfortable and well kept. Hosts kept in constant communication and were resourceful and welcoming. Overall a great find in the big city.
Jun 27, 2019We (2 ppl) had a great stay at Miguel's apartment. The only reason I wouldn't give it 5 stars is because the bathroom is wayyyy smaller than described or the pictures showed. I expected it to be small with it being NYC, but most coat closets are more spacious than this bathroom. We ended up using the kitchen sink more than the bathroom sink. Luckily there were lots of mirrors so we could get ready outside of the bathroom. Other than that, it was very clean and quiet, and a short walk to the subway. The bed and pillows were very comfy, and Miguel was absolutely awesome with his communication. He accommodated a late check out that allowed us to explore more of the city before we left. If you are a solo traveler or a couple that wouldn't care about the bathroom, I would recommend this place!

Jun 27, 2019Nice apartment. Hosts are friendly and flexible whenever possible (had to leave my luggage after check-out till my flight). Had some street noise, so bring your ear plugs if you're a light sleeper, but I slept well.
Jun 27, 2019This apartment is in a great location for those on a medium budget, who want to be close to Central Park, but away from the tourist traps of mid town. Plenty of restaurants and stores nearby, as well as reasonably (for NYC) priced parking garages. The apartment itself is a typical NYC "1-bed" - tight, but functional. As two plus a baby we had enough space, but not much left over. The bathroom is particularly tight for people not used to NYC style living. Miguel and his wife were exceptionally helpful and responsive both in advance and during our stay, including undertaking research re parking coupons. The apartment is on a busy traffic (not fast traffic, but congested) street making access/egress by car slow, however there is space outside to stop and unload (at risk of a ticket, but we were quick and no problems).

Miguel and his wife were great hosts - made sure we had everything we needed and even gave some guidance with using public transportation getting to/from. Their space was affordable and adorable! We would definitely travel this way again in the future :)

Jun 27, 2019Place was absolutely practical and very well located. The bed is super comfortable and the peaceful view out the back bedroom windows makes for a great place to sleep. Just the right amount of city noise filters through. Bathroom is very small but had what we needed. Miguel was very attentive and available via text as needed. Woul love to stay again.
Jun 27, 2019Miguel fue un gran anfitrión. Nuestro vuelo se atrasó mucho y no tuvo problemas para recibirnos fuera del horario pactado inicialmente. El apartamento es tal como muestran las fotos y estuvimos muy bien ahí. El baño es un poco chico, tal como se ve en las fotos. Por otro lado, hay que subir un piso por escaleras, que es un poco trabajoso con las valijas. En cuanto a la zona, está muy bien, cerca de la quinta avenida, de Central Park, etc. Resumiendo, es muy recomendable!

Jun 27, 2019It's a small apartment but I guess that's pretty standard for BYC. We did have everything we needed to spend one night. Walking distance to Central Park which is awesome! Parking could be expensive but again, it's NYC. We got lucky and found a spot on the street.

The location is great, just few blocks from central park and 2 blocks of the subway station (yellow and green lines) so you could get around very easily. Miguel was an incredible host. It was very hot during my stay in NYC and he contacted me regarding the location of the AC. Also he was very accommodating in allowing me to leave my luggages on his place until later. The place is small, as one can expect from NYC, but it is just perfect for those who want just to have a nice place to sleep. I'd definitely recommend his place and would come back again. Jun 27, 2019Our time in NYC was very short so we could not talk face to face to Miguel. We spoke to his wife who helped us with everything we needed. They were very supportive (we could not check-in on the agreed time due to flight delay) and I am sure our stay in the city was much better because of them. The house is located in a nice place, about 10 minutes walking to Central Park. Thank you guys for everything.

Jun 27, 2019The location is excellent. The space is decent (size-wise), and clean. Before booking, I informed the hosts that I have a foot injury the makes it very difficult for me to go down a staircase, so I asked if they could help me get my luggage down upon check out; they said it wouldn't be a problem. Then the hosts and I had a miscommunication regarding check-out. I had to change the time a couple of times. I was told, in a somewhat defensive matter, that I wouldn't get help with my luggage anymore since the person who was gonna help me had been waiting around for me since earlier. However, when I opened the door the person was coming up the stairs, so they were able to help me regardless. Everything turned out fine, but i was made to feel very uncomfortable by the prospect of getting my luggage downstairs alone, which would have been quite dangerous.
Jun 27, 2019The apt is in a quiet neighbourhood very close to subway (just two blocks), all around there are restaurant, coffee shop, and retail brands like Sephora, Victoria Secret and much more. The apt is very clean and minimal, with an AC perfectly working, at second floor without elevator. Bathroom is very very small and this could be a problem for strong people like me :D In general it was a great stay and Miguel replied to my questions very quickly, I recommend this place, absolutely.

Jun 27, 2019Miguel and Kate's place on the upper east side is the perfect location for getting around New York. It was walking distance to Central Park, Madison av, Park av, Bloomingdales and even Rockefeller if you felt like it (probably 45 mins or so). Subway and groceries at Whole Foods was convenient. The apartment is small but not knowing what to compare to in New York I assume it is fairly standard. It was safe and quiet even with construction out front. We had a 10month old with us and the floor boards were creaky which made it a little difficult to do anything without waking her up while asleep as in such close confines. Bench space and cupboard space in the kitchen were limited also but manageable. The hosts were easy to contact and let us leave our bags on check our day.

Jun 27, 2019My husband and I stayed at Miguel's apartment for 2 nights and we couldn't have been happier with our choice! The apartment was clean, in the perfect location (in my opinion), and was just the right size for two people. They also had an AC unit which we greatly appreciated! The building/street was quiet and it was easy to fall asleep at night. We were very comfortable here! Also, the location was right where we wanted to be! We were so close to Central Park that we ran it every morning and it was also super convenient to be so close to the subway! Miguel and his wife also provided us with wonderful recommendations for restaurants and were always quick to respond to any questions we had. We enjoyed their apartment, hospitality, and would absolutely stay here again!

We didn't spend much time there because it was perfectly located, about a 5 minute walk to multiple subway lines. Would definitely recommend Miguel's spot!
Jun 27, 2019This was our first time using Air BnB and our stay at Miguels place was a good first experience. After a wander around the area, we found it felt very safe with plenty for restaurants, laundrettes and shops for amenities. The bed was very comfortable, the bathroom was small but fine and Miguel and Kate were very helpful and responded quickly to messages. For us the location was it's greatest asset, it's just a short subway ride to everything touristy in Manhattan. We would definitely recommend Miguels place.

Jun 27, 2019First of all: all communication with Miguel & Kate was fabulous. They answered quickly and were very attentive. I didn't get a chance to meet Miguel, but Kate was very nice, and even helped me get my suitcase upstairs. (Thank you!). Several reviews here are noting this apartment's proximity to Central Park, which ismisleading. If that is important to you, look at a map, you'll see it's not close to the Park. It was very clean and is situated in the back of the building, so was very quiet. It is closer to 2nd Ave. than 1st. Nearest Subway station is at 59th & 3rd. Cross-town bus @ 57th. There's a Whole Foods on 57th btn. 2nd & 3rd, and a Starbucks on 3rd btn. 60th & 61st. I have only 2 suggestions for the lovely hosts. #1: It would be nice if the kitchenette came equipped with a roll of paper towels. #2: I lived in NYC on and off for 20 years, so I know "the lay of the land, as it were. But if you do NOT, things can be a little confusing. It would be GREAT, if there was, for example, a binder with some orientation details....like where the nearest subway stops are, grocery stores, etc. The hosts do provide some maps and brochures, but those are somewhat haphazard. Something more detailed would, I think, be appreciated by anyone who really is new to NYC. Other than those 2 SMALL details, the stay was great! Thank you so much!

Jun 27, 2019My wife and I stayed at Miguel's place this weekend and had a good overall experience. Communication and check in were very easy. Miguel was friendly. The place was about as we expected - quite small, but clean. Bed (& pillows) were quite comfortable and it was easy to sleep, as it's in a quiet section of the city. Very convenient to nice restaurants, stores, and Central Park. Also was walking distance to the conference I was attending at Mt. Sinai West. Thanks Miguel!

Miguel and his wife were great hosts that responded quickly to questions and even provided tips and suggestions during our stay. We would recommend to any couple traveling to the Big Apple!

They accommodated us at checkout letting us leave our luggage a few extra hours as our flight left later. Their place is tidy and close to the subway. The bed is comfortable but only a double size. WholeFoods is near by and it is about a 10 minute walk to Central Park.

La gente del edificio es muy amable. Esta muy bien ubicado. La zona es tranquila. Llegas a todos lados rápido a pie o en el metro. Jun 27, 2019My daughter and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Miguel's place. Though not as quiet as our residential home, by NYC standards it was quiet and the neighborhood was very safe. They were very flexible with our arrival time. It is about a 5-10 minute walk to a couple of subway lines. Great value.

Furthermore, the place is really comfortable and clean, and Miguel is always willing to help in anything, be it local tips or with "practical" information. As we said, great overall!!

We were so delayed traveling from Arizona to NY, and attempting to navigate public transportation in the city as first-timers unfortunately caused us to be much later than anticipated. Miguel’s wife stayed there (for like 2 hours!!) to let us in and show us around, and we were so grateful for that! They gave great recommendations! The apartment was so comfortable and felt very homey. I highly recommend this spot if you are looking to be centrally located and wanting a friendly comfortable vibe! Thanks y’all! We’ll be back!

Jun 27, 2019A compact apartment in a great area of Manhattan. If you just need a place to sleep, this is fine place, but do not expect to be able to eat in, if you have any mobility issues, you will struggle to use the shower. No lift and this is up one floor and steps up from street level.

The apartment was clean and the bedroom and living area were spacious, however the bathroom is on the small side. Miguel kindly met us at check in and sent through some local restaurant/sightseeing tips which was very helpful. Overall the apartment was ideal for our short break in NYC. Thanks again Miguel!

Jun 27, 2019Miguel's place have a really good location. Around 15min walk from Central Park. Since the booking, Miguel have an extremely good communication. The check-in was really easy and he waited for us to welcome us (we had delayed flight but Miguel waited to show his place-thank you) He give us good tips and the wifi work really well. The appartment was really functional for 2 persons. There are also soap and shampoo. I will definitely coming back again. Thank you!

Jun 27, 2019Miguel is a friendly and responsive host. The place is basic, clean, and well located for the East River, Central Park, MOMA etc. The apartment is up two short flights of stairs. It's a quiet apartment block and I felt safe. There are lots of good bars and restaurants nearby (I particularly liked the Upper East Cafe on 3rd near E.62nd). The place is pretty reasonable value for money in terms of space, compared with a budget hotel. There were some kitchen basics missing but Miguel supplied some of them the following day (though it was a creative challenge to eat breakfast yoghurt with no spoon!). There's a homey leather sofa in the living space, and a large screen TV with Netflix etc. Be prepared: the shower room is tiny and pretty shabby but it is clean, and the water pressure is good. I think this would be a good crash pad for a weekend in NYC, when you are eating out etc. I needed to use the place also to work - and it didn't really work out for me as the work space wasn't very well thought-through or adequate. With hindsight I should have asked for clarification, as this was important for me. If you are going in Summer, it would be worth asking Miguel for a fan for the bedroom, as the air con unit serves the living space and doesn't make much of an impact on the temperature in the bedroom.

Jun 27, 2019Great location and excellent communication from the host. The apartment is smaller than the photos depict, especially the bathroom/toilet which has very little movement room. However despite this the apartment had all we needed. There are great transport connections nearby, it's close to Central Park, and please try of cafes, restaurants, bars, laundromats within a few mins walk. The bed is also quite short, most people would be fine but anyone nearing 5'10" might have some dangling feet.

If you're looking for a clean and comfortable space to explore the city from, this is a great option.

Loved the tips the hosts sent; we did check out the shops and restaurants in the Plaza Hotel. Everything was easy and we were close to some cool places!

Jun 27, 2019New York itself the apartments are going to be small. Miguel's place wasn't bad. its a good enough space for no more than 2 people. I wish it was cleaner. the check in process wasn't that great. I had to meet the cleaning lady and she changed the address 3-4 times and it took us forever to get to the apartment because of that.

A couple cool bars in the area: Milk and Hop Ramen Bar and the The Jeffrey have great beer selections and a 24hr Duane Reade is 2 blocks away. Bathroom was small and shower super tight but that's what you get with a NYC apartment.

We already plan to book again for our first wedding anniversary and both my husband and I were extremely pleased with the accommodations, efforts to satisfy, and extra helpful and informative tips provided by Miguel!

Miguel was great with communication and very flexible with us when it came to checking in and running behind. He gave us helpful tips for nearby places and some hot spots if we wanted.
